History
The Romans spent many years inhabiting Ugljan and it became a prosperous part of the Roman Empire with its fishing and agriculture. Ugljan means literally as the 'Island of Olives', with which the island is still furnished in abundance. There are many ruins and churches to visit while staying on the island.
